Environmental Sustainability

Nigeria is facing a serious deforestation crisis — from busy cities to rural villages.

Trees are being cut down faster than new ones are planted, which leads to hotter temperatures, poor soil quality, loss of shade, flooding, and weaker agricultural productivity.

In many communities, especially in Ijebu Igbo and Atan, the natural beauty and environmental balance that once defined our villages are disappearing.

This project focuses on planting trees along major village roads, schools, marketplaces, and communal areas — not only to beautify our environment, but also to restore nature, protect the land, and secure a healthier future for the next generation.

About the project

Starting point

Support from local communities

The success of this project relies on collaboration and shared responsibility.

We work with:

Schools Educational Leaders

Community youth groups and volunteers

Local farmers and traditional leaders

Together, we choose shade-giving, native, and drought-resistant trees that thrive in our climate. During every planting activity, we teach why trees matter, how deforestation harms us, and how to care for newly planted trees until they mature.

This builds awareness + ownership, not just planting trees — but planting responsibility

End result

By promoting environmental education alongside tree planting, we are:

Reviving village beauty and identity

Reducing the effects of heat and erosion

Creating cleaner, cooler, and greener public spaces

Rebuilding pride in our communities

Inspiring youth to protect the environment

This is more than a project — it is restoring what our land once had, and protecting what our children deserve.
